City of Dundee Burgesses Support Birkhill Primary STEM Visit
The City of Dundee Burgesses were delighted to provide the funding required to support Birkhill Primary School’s Primary 5 class in taking part in an exciting STEM learning opportunity.
The pupils, who had been working on a variety of STEM projects throughout the year including a focus on esports, visited Dundee and Angus College’s state-of-the-art Esports Suite on Wednesday 18th June. During the visit, they took part in a range of activities led by the college and its Esports students, experiencing first-hand the growing opportunities in this innovative field.
One of the biggest challenges facing schools when organising educational visits is transport costs. Thanks to the contribution from the City of Dundee Burgess Charity, Birkhill Primary was able to overcome this barrier and provide a valuable experience for its pupils.
The trip not only enhanced the pupils’ understanding of esports as an emerging industry but also highlighted pathways in technology, teamwork, and digital innovation.
The City of Dundee Burgesses were proud to have played a part in enabling this opportunity and continue their long-standing tradition of supporting education and community initiatives across Dundee.
